  1. More accurately what a few elite Western men were spending their money on. Granted better than our idiot elites can manage for the most part.

    Still your average Western man of that period while smarter and hardier than we ever give them credit for, were skilled but uneducated people living mostly in wattle and daub huts and working the land.
