John Dickson Batten

Here's a painting by a British artist, John Dickson Batten, titled The Family (1886) (hat tip: Happy Acres)

  1. What a fine painting. It is laden with meaning and artistically beautiful. Thank you for posting it.

    1. Steven, thanks for the comment. I very much like the painting too.

  2. I would also like to thank you for posting the painting Mr. Richardson. What a contrast to the disgusting rubbish that passes for "art" now. That would make an excellent exhibit for young people. On one side there would be the true and beautiful art of earlier times and on the other would be the "art" so-called that is shamelessly given to the public as the genuine article today. If they hadn't had the last trace of intelligence and common decency eradicated in the state schools they would undoubtedly be moved to reflect on the implications for the future of continuing on the path pointed out to them by the subversives in the schools and various media.
