You know the haka, but the Icelandic Viking Clap?

Most people will have heard of the Maori haka but I had never before seen the Icelandic Viking Clap. After their team lost in the quarter finals of the 2016 Euro tournament, a mass gathering of Icelandic fans performed the Viking Clap - it must have been stirring to have taken part:

  1. Apparently Icelandic fans took it up having seen it in use at Fir Park, home of Motherwell FC. So it's really from Scotland, and therefore a British/Gaelic/Anglo-Saxon/Pictish/Viking clap. With a bit, perhaps, of Roman/Norman/Fleming too.
