Portlandia

There's a comedy being shown in the US called Portlandia which sends up the SWPL inner city liberal types. Here's a clip about a feminist bookstore:

And here's one about ordering local produce:

  1. Lol enjoy. "Is it local?" This of course matters because if its from a distance it will have a bigger carbon footprint. The levels of left wing masturbation going on here are impressive, but at least it keeps them busy. In the first clip the mistake was to take them seriously or be intimidated by them. Oh and locking the door on the guy = false imprisonment. Call a cop, lefties have to obey the law too.

  3. For more about the roots of this idiocy and its metastazation, read Ernest Callenbach's 1975 novel "Ecotopia".

  5. ""Looks like it will be a big win for the Liberals on Saturday.""

The libs could fail to show up and still would win.

Good to see the ALP get a kicking, even if the other mob seems almost as bad.

  6. I have to say the Libs aren't great. When I recently heard O'Farrell talk about the importance of population "growth" I spat out my cornflakes and stopped campaigning for him. Nonetheless in my opinion its easier to influence a Liberal govt than a Labor one. Those guys are totally useless. The Liberals are short sited and opportunistic whilst Labor is postively hostile.

  7. People like us may see this as making fun of “inner city SWPL” types, but non-whites (NAMs, at least) just see it as making fun of white people period. I think whites on the right are so relieved and grateful to see someone other than rednecks, Southerners and evangelical Christians being made fun of, that they fail to see that the more things change the more they stay the same: it’s still just mockery of white people. It should go without saying that we’re never going to see any TV shows making fun of non-whites in the same way. So I think any celebration of this sort of thing is shortsighted. This is all very safe humor that does nothing to challenge the hegemony of anti-white PC liberalism. It steers way clear of what’s most wrong with SWPL types: their betrayal of their own race. SWPL types themselves will no doubt be laughing along with this caricature of their obnoxious but relatively innocuous foibles, a fact that demonstrates better than anything else its utter worthlessness.

So we should judge everything we do through the context of "how would black people view this?"

Why should the cause of white pride supersede everything else?

  11. If it's a comedy I'll try to catch it by the Internet. If it's trying to convert me to their worldview (and being at a liberal international school I get this a lot) then I'll pass.

By the way since we are on movies anybody notice how many movies today coming out are all effects and appearance and little on character, substance and plot? What's all of this about?

  12. Paige, it’s not that the cause of white pride should supersede everything else, but the W in SWPL does stand for “White”, after all. In a largely homogeneous society, humor like this could be innocent or even cathartic. The ability to laugh at oneself on occasion is a sign of mental health. But since this is an American TV show not a Slovenian one, it isn’t self-deprecatory humor, it’s attack humor. The effect, if not the outright intention, is to get people to laugh at white people and to set whites against each other—and everyone else against whites. We need more solidarity and self-respect among whites. SWPL types make that hard enough to begin with without shows like this making it even harder. And the fact that the creators of the show are probably SWPLs themselves, while ironic, doesn’t change any of this.

You never ever see comedy poking fun of Blacks (unless its by a black). Despite there being in real life lots of souce material to poke fun of them. Personally most blacks seem ridiculous to me the most ridiculous being rap/hiphop stars who seem like retarded clowns.
Of course in our bizarro society pointing this out makes you a racist I also get double demerit points for using the word retarded. Great but blacks are still ridiculous.

  14. just to expand on that i've noticed that you will always find "white" actors willing to mock other "white" groups or vilify entire "white societies. You will rarely ever see non-white actors willing to play a role in tv or movies that mocks or vilifies non-whites.
An example is in movies concerning the Crusades or wars with the ME they use latin American actors. Xerxes in 300 is a Brazilian.

  15. Roissy had something interesting to say recently on SWPLers.

    Roissy said...

""Now that Western Christianity is a dead letter religion among the suckup SWPL set, something needs to replace the evolution-sized hole left in their heads from the excision of the traditional organized religions. That worshipful, in-group yearning is replaced by a new religion: the religion of “sustainable living.” Gaia is their God. Lettuce their Eucharist. Global warming their Nicene Creed. Canvas tote bags their cross. Marathons their forty days and forty nights in the desert. Recycling their tithe. Pet adoption agencies their soup kitchens and charity organizations. It’s a fucking joke, and it’s on them. They think they are above the religious impulse, when in fact they are as much a base animal as those plebes who earn their sneers; they’ve simply substituted a different flavor of the religious crack that gets them high.""

I love the parts of Roissy's blog unrelated to game, very funny sometimes.
